Four in a Row.

I want to give a quick shoutout and a thank-you to Tommy for being patient and letting my story have its moment before he dropped his new one. Now it’s his turn, and wow! This new story hits hard in all the best ways. Wink, wink…

In this part, we follow Lyla as she tries to deal with a breakup and the loss of someone close to her. She ends up spending some time with Mia and Rory, just trying not to be alone, and what starts as a quiet night together turns into something deeper and really emotional. Tommy captures that weird space between heartbreak and healing so well. The way friends can become your anchor when everything else feels like it’s falling apart, is something he manages to put into words almost perfectly.

It’s tender. It’s messy. And it’s real, just like life usually is. I really love how he writes about connection, and how even in the middle of loss, there’s still warmth and care. Definitely worth checking out.

Four in a Row is the twelfth story in the Cutting School and Playing Games series. It stands on its own, but I strongly advise to read them all. They’re great stories! Heck! It’s a great series, period!
