New Jason Crow story: Occupied

Well, it finally happened — my first story of 2025 is out! I know, I know… it took me way too long. The last thing I published was right at the edge of 2025, and then… nothing. Radio silence. My bad! Consider this my official apology for the unusually long break.

Sometimes writing flows like a river, and other times it’s more like trying to squeeze toothpaste out of a tube that’s already empty. This time, the toothpaste definitely won. But hey — better late than never, right? The fact that I started my own company wasn’t exactly helping in that toothpaste department, either…

Luckily, while I was wrestling with words and trying to find some time to write, Tommy Linarcos kept the stream of stories going strong. Seriously, he deserves a medal (or at least a bottomless coffee mug) for keeping readers entertained while I was stuck in the mud. Thanks, Tommy — you saved us all from story withdrawal.

So here we are, back in action. Hopefully this is the start of a steadier rhythm for me — fewer long gaps, more fun stories. Thanks for sticking around and being patient while I got my act together. Now let’s ‘kick off the year’ properly… with a brand-new story to dive into.

Occupied is a pretty straightforward story, which you can find more on the site. A girl gets confused; her brother is away on a bike trip, and the house is empty. That’s all I’m going to say about it…

I hope you enjoy this one, and that you’ll forgive me for taking so long.

Have fun

  1. Nice little story and I’m glad the sister was able to help her younger brother in tending to his wounds from the bike fall. I also like the way you give us the opportunity to download the story to be able to read offline too. Love the photos that come with your work (there was a cheeky extra photo on the start up of the PDF version…. Nice 🙂 )
Don’t worry about any long absences from your site , life can get pretty busy at the best of times …. I’m here for the long run.
    Virtual Hugs 🙂
