Triple Letter Score

It’s the gift that keeps on giving! Tommy has written yet another story in his amazing ‘Cutting School and Playing Games‘ series. The title is ‘Triple Letter Score’, so what’s the game this time? Uhm… Let’s see…

Yahtzee? Nah. It’s all about numbers in this game.

Twister? Nope. Already had that one.

Rummikub? No. That one…

Oh, stop it, Jason! It’s SCRABBLE, you idiot! 🙂

You guessed it, folks! Scrabble is a game that has to be in the series. Fun fact: OXYPHENBUTAZONE is the highest possible score with Scrabble for a single word. When you manage to place it across the left side of the board, hitting all three Triple Word Score squares and creating seven crosswords. (This is a theoretical maximum, as it requires a specific board setup and the ability to play seven additional words simultaneously.) If everything is done right, the score will be 1728 points. I’m guessing you’ve won the game with this one.

As always, Tommy managed to give it a great spin that sparks our interest! Great job again, Tommy! I’m positive the readers will enjoy themselves tremendously with this one!

Just Visiting

With writing ‘Just Visiting,’ Tommy wrote a flash fiction for us. This short gem is a nice addition to the Cutting School and Playing Games series. The title doesn’t reveal the name of the game. But the header image does. It’s about the endlessly long, endlessly irritating game of Monopoly. It has to be in the series. But how does one spice it up? Well, just ask Tommy 🙂

Just to be clear, guys… This is a short one. Mainly because nobody likes Monopoly… It’s true! Absolutely nobody likes Monopoly. I even asked ChatGPT, and it answered:

Many people dislike Monopoly because it’s long, luck-based, and often leads to arguments. The game can drag on for hours, with slow player elimination and little meaningful strategy. Trades can create conflict, and the outcome often feels unfair. Monopoly’s outdated design doesn’t hold up well against modern board games that are faster, more balanced, and more fun. While it has nostalgic value for some, it’s commonly seen as frustrating and friendship-straining.

Hmmm… So, I asked Copilot:

Monopoly tends to stir up more frustration than fun. It’s infamous for being endlessly long, where one player gains an early lead and slowly grinds everyone else into financial ruin. The mix of luck (bad dice rolls, unlucky Chance cards) and cutthroat competition can strain friendships. Players often feel powerless or bored midway through. Plus, despite its capitalist theme, the gameplay can feel oddly repetitive. Still, it’s a cultural icon—just one many people love to hate.

That’s it! Nobody likes Monopoly. But yet, Tommy gave it his all. And this version of Monopoly is better than the board game. I promise 🙂

Here’s the direct link. Have fun!

Operation: Johnny

With June well underway now, it’s time for a new story. And Tommy is doing a great job here with keeping the stories coming! He’s just released the third story in the Cutting School and Playing Games. Thanks a lot, Tommy!

Well… what’s the game this time? Operation! But I can assure you, it’s not  your classical ‘playing doctor.’ I think we’re all familiar with that big, red-nosed guy with funny hair, right?

Tommy’s story is called Operation: Johnny. In this story, Mia and Lyla find Johnny, the boy everyone has a crush on, and invite him home to play a game of Operation, but they wind up playing a very different version of “Doctor.”  But… how will Rory react when he arrives?

Loads of teenage drama, teenage conversations, and, you guessed it, teenage sex in this one. And just like always, Tommy delivers!

If you missed the first two stories – The Benefits of Girl Talk and Kiss Her and Twister – they are all posted on the series page. Some stories in the series are shorter, some longer, but all are hot!

Have fun!

The Benefits of Girl Talk

Tommy Linarcos to the rescue! Tommy is the one that keeps the new stories coming! Thanks to him, there’s a sparkling and brand-new story online. Tommy is starting a new series called Cutting School and Playing Games. The first story in this series is a three-part story called The Benefits of Girl Talk.

This first story shows our main characters on their ‘day off’ from school. They get together and talk about the problems in the world, politics, and world peace before heading home again. NO! Of course not! They get together and have fun in ways you like to read about on this site!

Thanks a lot for publishing this story here, Tommy!! It’s much appreciated. And a big shout-out to Tommy’s beta reader for this series, Cara!  All of us authors need that second pair of eyes.

And folks, please let Tommy know what you think about this one! Comments can be made at the bottom of each story (not on the central pages, I’m working on that), or you can send me an email, and I’ll make sure to pass it on to Tommy.

Here’s the link to the story page.

Enjoy!!
